This photo is showing the hardships people had to face daily in the time of the Great Depression especially mothers. A photographer saw a women as "she was drawn to her like a magnet" and took shots of the mother with worry in her eyes at a camp. Later on the photographer knew that she successfully portrayed the emotions in her pictures for her assignment and informed the authorities to send 20,000 pounds of food. Lange, the photographer, set the iconic picture used to talk about the Great Depression. Making this an important description of the suffering nation as a whole.

The Migrant Mother is a picture that exactly portrays the struggle people went through in the time that our nation was struggling. I chose this picture because I think if I was a mother I would be extremely worried for my loved ones and feeling quilty for not being able to provide for my children. I feel like this paints the picture of every mother that had to go through.

This shot of Michael Jordon if the most famous silhouette ever photographed. This is a picture of a basketball star that is still seen as Nike logo for Michael Jordon. It is now seen all over that world and seen as the symbol of five time champion star. The silhouette of Michael Jordon is now a 3.2 billion dollar business in sports.

The silhouette Michael Jordon changed basketball. Growing up from the reservation in Sisseton and in Flandreau me and other kids didn't have much but whenever we did it was Jordons. On the reservation Jordons became a trademark and adults would buy their kids these things. Our clothes were never brand new and were always secondhand but our shoes never were. This picture is significant because its a part of my childhood. I also like this picture because I love basketball.

This shot was taken by Edward S. Curtis to capture the moments of the vanishing race that once stretched across the Americas. Settlers from other countries wanted to make a home on the "newly" found land and was evicting Indians from their homes and to be put into reservations. This photographer wanted to document native people's ceremonies, life, and manners to show them as noble people. With over 80 shots of the vanishing race he Edward created a book that portrayed the the hardships and the new life Native Americans had to face while all cementing the stereotype of Indians.

I chose this picture to be one of my influential photos because these picture capture Native American's history that isn't taught in the Americas history books. These shots document the life of Native Americans that can't be erased. Being their decedents this breaks my heart because I can't imagine the pain that they had to be faced everyday of their lives and the worry they had their people. Things that happened then still effect us today and I'm proud I had strong determined ancestors that tried to pave a way for future generations.
